As we all know, the production of traditional textiles will produce a lot of pollution, which is also the reason that textile factories continue to change their bases. Among those procedures, the dyeing process is the most serious part of pollution.
With the advancement of digital printing technology, more and more people turn to a new digital printing technology: the thermal transfer sublimation printing process. What is Dye Sublimation Printing? What makes it so eco-friendly and sustainable?
Before we start talking about sublimation and whether it's environmentally friendly, I want to take a moment to review:
What is sublimation printing?
Heat-activated dyes are used in sublimation printing to transfer prints from the source to the textile via the sublimation process. Sublimation is the process of molecules passing from a solid to a gas state without passing through a liquid stage. Heat is given to sublimation dyes during the printing process, converting them straight into gaseous form. At the same time, the dye comes into touch with a synthetic substance such as polyester. Heat causes the cloth fibers to open, allowing the dyes to infiltrate into the fiber and permanently connect with it.
Then, what makes it so eco-friendly?
Water is an integral part of the dyeing process for most traditional textile processes as a medium for dye transfer into textiles. It takes 200 tons of water to dye 1 ton of fabrics, while in dye-sublimation printing, no dye enters the water. Water is not needed for coloring, but heat is used instead. And the paper can be reused for other projects, perhaps packaging or stationery.
The sublimation ink is completely absorbed by the sublimation paper. The ink is then applied to the garment in its entirety. There isn't much room for cross-contamination between batches, designs, or even clothing. It's a completely self-contained system.
And paper can be recycled, and the waste and paper generated during the sublimation process can be re-used and degradable. We also comply with the FSC standard in the production process, using environmentally friendly sustainable paper production.
Sublimation printing is a new eco-friendly design approach that allows you to create one-of-a-kind zero-waste prints. It's a fashionable and environmentally friendly solution. On the other hand, sublimation paper can accommodate small batches and variable orders, allowing it better to meet the needs of today's consumers for originality.
There are a variety of sublimation paper and sublimation ink options on the market today. Hanrun Paper always adheres to environmental protection and sustainability and establishes the company's green image. Enterprises apply for FSC certification to ensure that the purchase and sale of certified products meet the environmental protection needs of relevant countries; sublimation ink has also passed OEKO-ECO certification, using environmentally friendly Sustainable materials and production processes.
