2. The influence of ink viscosity on ink absorption performance of sublimation paper
The ink absorption performance is not only related to the structure of the paper but also related to the viscosity of the ink. If the ink viscosity is too small, the penetrating effect is strong, and it is easy to penetrate the paper to cause color bleeding; if the ink viscosity is too large, the penetrating effect is weak, and it is easy to pile up on the surface of the paper. Bleeding and ink pile-up will have a serious impact on the transfer effect of the product, and this phenomenon should be prevented during the production process.
3. The influence of other factors on the ink absorption performance of sublimation paper
In addition to the above factors, the ink absorption performance of sublimation paper is also closely related to the moisture content of the paper, the pressure, temperature, and time during printing. Paper fiber is a hydrophilic substance. When the water content of the paper is high, it will form a hydration layer on the surface, which is not conducive to the combination of the ink binder and the fiber and even affects the penetration of the binder, so the absorbability of the paper to ink is reduced. Especially for oily inks with water repellency, this effect is more prominent. At the same time, the presence of the hydration layer also hinders the paper's absorption of oxygen and delays the process of ink oxidative polymerization, which is extremely unfavorable for the paper's absorption of ink. Therefore, the moisture content of printing paper should not be too high. Taking into account other factors, the moisture content of the paper before printing is generally controlled at 4% to 8%. In addition, printing pressure, temperature, and time will also affect the ink absorption performance of sublimation paper. The printing pressure directly affects the penetration stage of ink absorption. The temperature affects the viscosity of ink and the speed of ink drying. Time affects how long the pressure and temperature are in contact with the paper.
In the actual production process, it is necessary to reasonably control the production and printing process parameters to ensure that the paper has good temperature resistance and shape stability while giving the paper excellent printing performance. It is necessary to pay attention to the mutual influence between various factors and give full play to the synergistic effect of each influencing factor.
