To ensure maximum durability of ink, please keep them in their packaging until installation. The storage temperature should be between 15 to 35℃. If you need to temporarily remove a cartridge from the printer, remember to reinstall it as soon as possible. When the cartridges are out of the printer without protection, they begin to dry out.
The printers have a head parking system to maintain print quality and make printer working in an proper way, this system prevents the heads from drying out by moving them to an area called a service station (pump cap, cap top ...) where it rests on a kind of cushion that cleans them and prevents them from agents, dust, air ... Therefore, in order for it to work correctly always, turn off the printer using the power button and wait for the power light to turn off, then disconnecting the cord. This will allow the cartridges or heads to move to a protected position within the printer.
If you need to store cartridges outside the printer for a while, put them in an airtight container, with the chips protected from friction. Some cartridges (the refillable ones) have aeration caps that during daily they have no use and we wonder what are they for? Well, in these cases it is time to use them. Do not let anything touch the cartridge nozzles. It will affects the printing if the ink do not have the covered or properly sealed, the ink base is a solvent that tends to evaporate, this causes a change in the proportion between the base and the transported pigments, so that color changes usually occur during printing to affect quality.
Dust or particulate are harmful to inks, large format printers and other machinery. It is advisable to keep the room free of dust as it could contaminate the ink and clog the printer heads, reducing the quality of your printing.
A very typical mistake that users and many sellers make is to think that the same ink can be used for different printers of different brands. For example, a pigment ink may work well on DX4 print head and not work equally well on other DX6, DX7 printheads, even if they are from the same manufacturer.
